Updated Adventures and Contemplation from Sandy’s Perspective

2024

I am optimistic that our new global “normality” has been shaped and the world has opened up to explore once again.

After contemplating life changes at the onset of the Covid 19 pandemic. My direction and experiences have changed due to the global challenge, but it’s time to sit down and start writing once again.

After a lengthy teaching career, (34 years) I retired (The First Time) from Vancouver Island North in 2017.  However, the desire to collaborate and build upon curious minds called me once again. I experienced a new area of Canada up in Burns Lake as Teacher-Librarian/Learning Commons Specialist until June 2019 when I retired (The Second Time) accruing 35 amazing years as an educator in B.C. public schools. In November 2022, I received the call once again to teach/mentor up in rural Alert Bay, Cormorant Island off the north east area of Vancouver Island. Watch for upcoming blog posts about my experiences at this friendly, tiny, mainly First People’s community. Spoiler alert….There will be lots of ocean views, culture, and totem poles! This year I am mentoring once again up in Port Hardy, B.C.

The freedom of being able to make my own choices, in my own time, is a new reality.

Here is my blog …. My chosen venue to share my story.  You are welcome to join my journey.

Hugs Sandy
